Now that I’m married, I no longer have any use for this dating tip, but it’s such a good one it seems a shame not to share it. Read More

British Embassy: Non-clickable Register Button
Nothing like having an image that says “Register Now” and then not linking it to anything. A belated April Fool’s joke? Sadly, I doubt it. So much for us Brits having a smug sense of superiority over the Yanks. Read More
Web Design Pricing
I happened to be over at Newfangled Web Factory’s site (cool name, by the way) for a reason that now escapes me, and I noticed that they had a whole page devoted to their pricing.
Normally, this is something that web design firms shy away from – for fear of frightening off potential clients, I suppose – and so Kudos to Newfangled for being so upfront.

According to Hitwise, the Advocate Health System web site was the sixth most visited hospital web site in November 2004. With such large and popular site, you’d think they’d have a lot to talk about every month – apparently not. Read More

I’m always finding broken stuff on the web. Sometimes I take the time to point these problems out to the web site owner, but mostly I just don’t have the time. However, I often find these occurrences to be useful learning experiences, and at the very least they remind me that nobody’s perfect.
JavaScript Centered Pop-Up Window Script
I know pop-up windows are generally considered to be a bad thing; however, this script has served me well over the years and so I thought I’d share it. Read More
Screen Capture Software Review
A good screen capture tool is an essential part of the web designer’s arsenal. I often need to grab part of a web page or a graphic or icon and then pull it into PhotoShop. Of course, you can just hit the Print Screen button, but it’s a pain to edit out all the stuff you don’t need. Read More
