A few things that have caught my eye lately:
Morphases.com
This flash-based online face creation and manipulation tool is amazing. Some of the UI is a little cryptic, but it’s not too difficult to work out what all the controls do.
Graphikjunkie
Jim Amos’ web design weblog has been a welcome find, with a recent post about custom 404 pages being particularly entertaining and enlightening.
Plus, he’s a fellow Brit living in the USA, so I naturally feel a connection there.
Cool 3D Effect
I love the 3D effect of this image – it just leaps off the page!
The way that the shadow has been applied as a background image makes the image integrate very nicely with the text (visit the actual web page to check it out).
Definitely an idea to steal in the future! By the way, the site is very nicely done too.
Picasa
Picasa is an excellent photo gallery management tool. And now that the company have been acquired by Google, it’s free!
It’s very similar to Adobe’s Photoshop Album, which has a free “starter version“. Download them both and see which you prefer.
Hey, thanks for the plug. I had the pleasure of being involved with the merillat website, though I can’t take any credit for the graphic above. It’s all done in xhtml/css, probably a first for a furniture store.
Jim, it’s a great site, but not the first furniture store to go web standards…
Hey that’s cool. They even use PHP. I never did understand why my employers insisted on ASP for merillat.
